hey peeps i was reading a post awhile back,about someone buying the name change on guildwars they changed there char name and then was not able to use any of they armor sets or weapons because of the dif name was just courious if any of you know that if that issue has been fixed,was thinking about changing my name but not if i cant use my armor sets or weapons i have allrdy. thx for your help

that must be a rare bug or something... I've changed a few names and the armours etc have all been fine.

You have to buy a name change from the in-game store, I believe.

Regina started posting trying to help. It ended when Regina posted that GMs checked the OP's account, and the OP's character was currently wearing the armor they claimed they had a problem with.

So short answer - no, it won't mess up your existing gear, and it probably wasn't even a bug in the first place.

Just to make it clear, the name found on your current customized gear(armor/weapons/etc) does not change. But they are still usable on that character, as all items are customized to the character and not the name. Anything you customize after your name change, will however display the new name.
